Day 0

"Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away!

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
in any direction you choose.
You're on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go."

We begin the journey today. We're leaving the US at 7:20pm (August 31), and will arrive in Reykjavick at 6:20am tomorrow (September 1). After a short layover, we're off to London. We should land about noon, luggage waiting.

We plan to frollick in London for the day, and then sleep in Gatwick airport until our 6:40am flight (September 2) to Istanbul. We're scheduled to arrive at Sabiha Gökçen airport about 12:30pm.

Factoring in a short trip to the city proper, it will be (hopefully) just under two days of travel before we reach our hostel in Istanbul and can sleep off the jet lag.

Safe travels Chris. I would love to keep up with your experiences. I am still most of the time in Africa so if your travels get you close, let me know.
