It's raining for the second consecutive day here in Antalya, which gives this beach city a vaguely morose and depressed air. Fortunately, the next few days should be a bit more interesting.
Tomorrow we're waking early to begin the Lycian Way, a 500km trail through the ancient state of Lycia. I hear it's an incredibly beautiful and scenic trail, but also a quite difficult path (at least in the particular section we are planning).
For example, some of the advice we've read is to "bring string and a bucket for wells." Thank God I remembered to pack one, right along with my flute and whimsical troll (for breaking magic spells).
After hiking on the Lycian Way for a few days, we're catching a bus back to Antalya and then taking a bus to Antakya. Our goal is to hit the Syrian border by the morning of the 18th, and to celebrate the end of Ramadan in Aleppo or Damascus.
