Notice the garbage: below is actually typical for a street in Cairo. After the swine flu broke, Egyptian authorities ordered all the pigs culled. The only people who raise pigs are the Zabbaleen (Coptic Christians), and they used the pigs to clean trash in the city. So no pigs = really dirty city.



And this camel is still parked right outside my hostel. Just look at that smug smile. Disgusting.
