I Lied

One of my favorite aspects of Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children is that the narrator is not completely truthful to his audience. More importantly, he is never completely truthful to himself.

Indeed, towards the end of the novel, he explicitly calls into question the accuracy of his own account. Ipso facto, the accuracy of India's version of its own history is called into question.

So with that in mind, a confession:

I'm not in Koh Chang. I never was.

I'm currently in Hanoi, Vietnam. I arrived yesterday morning.

I have a really good excuse for lying on this blog. But I'll explain later.
